This is a large reproduction of the famous lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and the Cape Fear River. Located on Bald Head Island North Carolina, this historic lighthouse was originally built in 1818. Old Baldy withstood two notably destructive hurricanes. One in 1883, that sunk more than 100 vessels, and Hurricane Fran in September 1996. Old Baldy was deactivated in 1935, and is now open to the public as a historical monument.
